Glenn Ferguson 06-16-07, - 09:10 PM Ummm, all commodities went up. Just want to see if you're paying attention to what's happening with your money... B21 06-16-07, - 09:12 PM Have you noticed that the price on Dairy and Meat items increased this past week? Yes I have! I was in the New City Market out Cable Beach on Thursday mid-day. I was walking thur the isles with the can goods, when I received a phone call from my wife telling me not to forget to get some cans of the Chef Boyardee Ravioli, Beefaroni, and Cambells chunky soup as they are mostly what the house hold eats as the afternoon snacktime. She was like they are for $2.34 a can, and I was like oh no they aren't. I'm looking at the can right now and it says $2.98. She was like are you serious cause you must have the wrong stuff because I was just in there yesterday. I went up to the cashier and asked her if this was the correct price on the cans, she was like "yes it is Sir". The cost of living is on the increase once again. It was suggested that the former Government did nothing to help with the stabilization of the price of products found in the food stores across the islands. I recall they said this was also V Alfred Grey's area. What is being done to prevent scrupulous merchants from over pricing our food supply. Isn't there some way that a pricing inspector be made to check-in on all these food stores on a weekly bases. Some of these prices are really ridiculous! B21 06-16-07, - 09:21 PM I noticed they keep going up every month now ... orange juice for $7 is outrageous too .. also, i just paid $8 for a salad and potato at wendies .. whats with that ... darn .. should have just got a hot dog for $1.50 :( Damn! I am a food lover, food of all sorts, but fast food prices are really starting to scare me. I remember when you could have walked into KFC, the golden arches, or Wendy's with $5 bucks and you came out well satisfied with food service, prices, and it's quality. Nowadays, it seems to me that they make the food with less love, serve as if they trying to get rid of you, and the prices have really changed the heavyness of my pockets. (this might help to hold back my eating disorder though) I just hope that these sudden price hikes are really employee raises, otherwise there just wrong. Ting-um 06-16-07, - 09:25 PM Just want to see if you're paying attention to what's happening with your money... You mean how much value its lost? Yes, I have.. Glenn Ferguson 06-16-07, - 09:27 PM You mean how much value its lost? Yes, I have.. Inflation is a part of life so you'd better get use to it... Ting-um 06-16-07, - 09:34 PM LOL. I realize that. But inflation can be controlled, predicted, alleviated, and so on and so forth. androsann 06-16-07, - 09:59 PM I slipped down to the shop earlier with $1.00 in my pocket to buy a can of cream. That was a no-go, had to borrow a couple of cents from a friend, as all large cans of cream here are now over the dollar mark. You think you've got it bad in Nassau, try coming over here to shop! Shakita 06-16-07, - 11:49 PM I noticed they keep going up every month now ... orange juice for $7 is outrageous too .. also, i just paid $8 for a salad and potato at wendies .. whats with that ... darn .. should have just got a hot dog for $1.50 :( I paid 8,79 for Orange Juice today!!! Rory 06-16-07, - 11:57 PM I paid 8,79 for Orange Juice today!!! well i was lucky, so to speak, they had that $5.79 HomeMaker's orange juice in Super Value .. ;) Yeah but the rest near gave me a stroke .. then again if I buy a small bottle from a gas station its almost $3 anyways so even $8 is still cheaper than my normal buys ..
