yeah and they charge for local calls, $1 a call ... plus there are all kinds of hotel taxes on top of the cost of the room .. got a daily rate at Nassau Beach for Bahamians, for I think it was $89, but add all the taxes it came to like $120, per night. And thats a special rate for Bahamians only, tourists rates are more.

i want even thinkin in terms of taxes and other stuff.
i have two friends that was/are tryin to decide between nassau and a cruise. after i started calculating all that it would cost they was/are thinkin about doing the cruise. i convinced one to still come with me cuase they wont have to pay for a hotel. only food and entertainment. when she heard power boat was almost 200.00 she almost died. the power boat is worth every penny though. also she couldnt believe the price of the buffets but to me they are a good deal cuase the food is really good and worth the money.
even if she does come i am pretty sure she wont go back to visiting any single country after doing a cruise. i heard its the best and only way to vacation.

yep you are so right. They told me the flat rate was like $59. When I checked my credit card a few weeks later it was like $110. Complete bull shetters.

The Bahamas is very expensive.
You can get an island vacation in the far north Dominican Republic for WAY cheaper.
