:hammer: 'FNM Senator Accuses Former Gov’t of Attempt To Rip Off Public Treasury"
http://www.jonesbahamas.com/?c=45&a=13097
:hammer: "It went directly to some [fellows] or some people to do what they want to do with the public funds. That’s what I’m saying, Madam President. It’s the use and misuse of public funds."
"I think that the point he was making [is] the money was misused. The contracts were abused and I don’t think he meant in any way to cast aspersions on any Cabinet minister or the former Cabinet of The Bahamas," Senator Foulkes said."
"...Senator Maynard-Gibson said she was grateful for the clarification, but she said she felt that it doesn’t address the point she was making."
"..Senator Ferguson then said, "In no way I called or intended to call the name of any Cabinet Minister, previously or present in that sense. But I do want to say what I was saying in terms of abuse of public funds, and that cannot change the fact that when you have a clinic sitting in Inagua, three quarters finished that should have been finished, something has gone wrong. That’s the point I was making."
Senator Maynard-Gibson accepted this response from Senator Ferguson."
:hammer: After such a scurrilous and Publicly humiliating and Criminal charge why did Senator Maynard-Gibson appear to accept this silly, poorly worded, bungled and contorted retraction? Why are the PLP so blase and lackadaisical in their defence of their own record?
Is the good Senator up to the task of being a effective Opposition leader in the Senate?
