Thought that I would give ya a little tidbit of information just in case ya didn't know. Of course many Bahamians come to Florida or to the States to visit from time to time or they purchase many goods from companies based in Florida. I was looking through State of Florida's Unclaimed Property Website today and see some people listed in there from Nassau that have refunds, utility deposits, payroll checks, and other things that you can get back if it is yours. You will need to go online and search through the database using your last name first and check to make sure that it is you and then click on the link to have a form sent to you to claim what you forgot you had or didn't know you had.
I periodically check it and when I went there about two years ago I found my name on the list!!! And I got an old paycheck that was coming to me that I had forgotten to collect when I left that employer!

Here is the website: http://up.dbf.state.fl.us/Isearch.cfm

If for some reason you are unable to do it.. email me and I will check for you.

Thanks Ejluv for letting us know about this. This is pretty cool! I checked it out in case I'd get back all that U.S. sales tax I'd paid over the years on visits to Florida but no such luck!

Thanks for the info.

I think I found my grand-dad's old payroll/wages account in here back from the days he went over in 50's.
We will look into this further. Thanks again.
