Rory 06-30-07, - 05:06 PM I don't think Bahamians even come close to being compared to Americans. All the food I ate in Nassau, was/is a whole lot healthier than the food in the US. Bahamians at least have fruits and vegetables as staples in their diet. Bahamians eat massive amounts of mangoes, guineps, tamarinds, dilly, and so on - especially when their in season. Plus, Nassau so hot you could walk twelve feet and sweat off 30 pounds right there. Plus, even though there's a lot of grease and fat in the food - Bahamians eat a considerable amount of seafood, whether conch, bonefish, or goggle-eye. Compare that to americans that eat steaks, beef and pork. I think the average Bahamian diet is considerably healthier than American or British. In fact, in order to maintain my bodyweight, I have to workout two hours a day everyday and still eat less than I do when in the Bahamas. Plus you see Bahamians walking. Or out in their yard or on the beach. If you in Nassau and you real fat, then you eating way, way too much - even for a fat person. Round here, every thing is fried chicken, fried chicken, fried chicken (along with lamb bones soaked in grease, fried pork bones, fried fish bones, BBQ ribs * cough bone and fat *), thats what Bahamians eat dread, cause thats mostly all food joints is serve, and if it aint fried chicken, its french fries, peas and rice, macoroni cheese, or potato salad .. man the ambulance passes my house like 10 times a day if not more. And no, the average Bahamian meal is not healthier than the US or Brit meals. What good is a piece of fruit when you got a bowl of grease to go with it! babychase1 06-30-07, - 05:07 PM Round here, every thing is fried chicken, fried chicken, fried chicken, thats what Bahamians eat dread, cause thats mostly all food joints is serve, and if it aint fried chicken, its french fries, peas and rice, macoroni cheese, or potato salad .. man the ambulance passes my house like 10 times a day if not more. But what kinda people live past ur house? Rory 06-30-07, - 05:12 PM But what kinda people live past ur house? the whole eastern side of Nassau, ghettos and gated communities .. Rory 06-30-07, - 11:28 PM I'm just talking about my experience and the people that live or have lived around me. True dat ... eat something healthy for me :) bahmaboy 07-01-07, - 01:10 AM it is true many bahamians eat heavy all day. tuna and grits or suagage and eggs smoothered in greece for breakfast. then for lunch its peace and rice, cole slaw, macoroni, chicken, fish or pork, rice and a "sweet soda". then for dinner itas another heavy eatin with may be some snacks on the side. i personly either have cold ceral or a bagel in the morning (i mostly dont have time to cook eggs and crap) with juice. then lunch is usually a sandwhich with water or juice or a soda. then dinner is usually pasta or rice with some type of meat and veggies. and a hour gym session 4 times a week keeps my weight in check. i hope i can keep the routine up after marriage. i am constantly in fear of becomin a fat Mass after settling down i notice that i gain weight if i snack in between meal so i gave up my dorrito addiction. garnelleo 07-01-07, - 03:13 PM well i have already lost 30lbs already by going to the gym just about every day! i got about 70lbs to go!!!!:bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy: congrats keep it up.
