Christian fundamentalists had just finished a revival on the word for
word interpretations of the signs of the times. They checked out of the
hotel and were on the highway heading for the airport. They came to a
sign that said airport left so the turned around and went back to the
Hotel.
It gets worse; they called the dept. transportation and asked if the
Airport in deed left. When it was explained that they were to turn left
they said the sign should this. That night the dept of transportation
fixed the sign.
The next day the fundamentalists were heading to the Airport again. The
got to the sign it read "Airport turn left" they did and ran into the
guardrail.
In the traffic court they argued that when told to turn left that is
what they did. They won their case. The transportation department went
that night and changed the sign again. This time to Airport Keep left.
The next day The Fundamentalists headed out for the Airport again. This
time they pulled over to the sign and peeled off the word left and went
back to the hotel. They were promptly arrested and taken to the traffic
court again this time for destruction of highway property. They argued
the point that the sign said keep left so the took the word left and
kept it. Again they won the case and went back to the hotel.
That night the dept transportation put up a sign that said follow the
yellow exit ramp to the Airport. Then painted the exit road yellow.
The fundamentalists started out again this time they made the turn no
problem and were on their way or at lest till the end of the yellow exit
ramp where they promptly stopped because the yellow road ended.
Again they won their case in traffic court.
That night the traffic dept worked till just past sunrise.
The Fundamentalist headed out again. They came to a sign that said
Christian fundamentalists read the following signs. Then the came to the
sign that said follow the yellow exit road to the airport. Before they
got to the end of the yellow road there was another sign that read
continue off the yellow road and follow the regular colored road to the
airport. Just before the airport there was a sign that said. After you
park you car if you can’t interpret the signs please ask some one who
has common sense to interpret them for you and please get on your plane
safely and leave.

Moral of this story well if you have common sense you understand it
already if not ask someone with common sense to interpret for you. But
stop holding up other peoples lives because you have problems with words.

Some help for those that can’t ask for it. For interpretation to be
understood you must know the intent of the writer the context of what
they are writing and the times when it is written.

Joe went to buy a time piece. What did Joe buy? A sun dial a pocket watch a wrist watch or a grandfather clock???
