One thing that is clear in the Bahamas is that government is not functioning properly. I propose here to start a conversation on what government is supposed to do, how it is supposed to do it, and changes to the way government operates to make government work properly for the people.
Why do we have a government?
What is government?
How does government work?
Is government working well enough for us?
Can government be changed? Can it work differently? Can it work better?
How do we, the people fit into government?
These are some considerations to initate our discussion.

Government is in charge of the Police, right? So how come motorbike riders are still doing wheelies (with no helmets) along main roads (often in front of M.P.’s homes); people are allowed to drink (way beyond the limit) and drive (often drinking alcohol in their vehicles as they drive); law abiding citizens are booked by police and charged huge fines for doing a couple of miles per hour over the speed limit when others race along at crazy speeds, driving us off the road, and running red lights (and get away with it)?

I saw employees of Atlantis and other companies being pulled over by the cops after a long day at "WORK" in the East Bay street Montague area ( which seems to be their favorite hideout for road blocks ).
When it isn't out Montague it's the Paradise Island bridge.
I wonder if this is just a coincidence or are the Police targeting working class citizens and "rich areas" for these road blocks?
Maybe it's because they know that these persons pay the bill?
Just a thought!

I decided to go back to 200 just to see if people were keeping the goverments feet to the fire and watching EVERY MOVE. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
