You need to study your history not movie stuff. You need to study the most feared Greek worriers the Spartans. The men lived in all male barracks and the women stayed home. Other than make it one of the greatest powers that has ever been? But it fell, as all great Empires do. Its religion died out, as all religions do. There is much debate as to what caused the fall of Rome - everything from the growing strength of the Barbarians to the north to the use of lead in their drinking cups!

Unfortunately Christ was a minor issue to the Romans. Christ had only a handful of followers. Even after he ascended the Christian faith was a small, insignificant power. I doubt it gave Rome a moments worry. I think it is safe to say that 99% of Romans went to their graves never hearing his name! Rome had bigger issues to deal with. Christ was not on the top of their list of worries. It was only after Rome fell that the Christian faith found it's muscles.
