Delroy, did you mean you hate wickedness or wicked actions.

Wicked people.
Wickedness and wicked actions are the results of wicked people.

who cares about this topic..i mean sissys are with us yes, but this stupid out of the mainstrema issue does not deserve the second thought!!!

not to be cruel, but sissys arent the manistream in the bahamas....and their issues are moot!!

do you really think so. why do you think it is such a heated topic in the bahamas? it is becuase gays are in the mainstream, maybe not as openly as in bigger countries but they are there. they are secretly in top gov positions, the church, the judicial system etc.

America has a long way to go on many issues, but not as nearly far to go on homophobia as does the Bahamas. Whatever your interpretation of the last election a gay American can walk hand in hand down the streets of my city without fear of retribution (or go to a club, shopping or out to eat) I know such freedoms do not exist in the Bahamas. If people in the Bahamas would pay closer attention to the real problems that confront them (also true for America but to a far less degree) ....maybe poverty, unemployment, drugs and the many other numerous issues that really plague our islands would get the attention they really deserve. I would never use America or Bush as a moral foundation for deciding what is right for the Bahamas. In America gay fear and the politics therein were used as tools to split the black vote and elect an oppressor. It was used as a method of diversion. It worked, and it’s easy to see how.

I never said that they should be our example. I was simply responding to the idea that the Bahamas or any other country that isn't "modern" according to so-called first world standards is a backwards nation.

Real oppression is when a man believes that another man's wealth is a sign of superior intelligents. I believe that this view will change in the near future as God said that "I will use the small of this world to put to shame those that are mighty". As we have seen in 2001 one man shut down the airways of the world and changed the future as we now know it.

I believe that one day this country (the Bahamas) will be a model for all nations but we must first establish our true identity.

To Vicky:

Murder and rape have been around as long as man has been around. Should those be okay??

Also..

If a man crossdresses as a woman, he is asking to be treated in a manner that defies natural law. At the heart of crossdressing is deception. If crossdressers are asking not to be judged on their appearance then they should not use their appearance as a means to an end. In other words, they should not appear as a woman to be treated as a woman. Womanhood is more than just an appearance. It is defined by more than one person. Our entire society is defined by more than one person. Under God we are all equal. Under secularism/science/objectivism we are all one. Which is why utilitarianism is better than individualism.

what is womanhood or manhood? it is definatly not based on whats betwix your legs. i just think too many people still dont get that we are born who we are. the disire for a person to wanna dress as the opposite sex, be with the same sex, act as the opposite sex, to go against "natural law" or societies standards is just with in them and these are feeling they can not deny. to do so would be very painful. people have to stop looking at this thing with their emotions and religion and look at it from a common sense approach. IT IS HUMAN AND EVEN ANIMAL NATURE TO WANNA FIT IN TO WHAT SOCIETY WANTS, WHAT THEIR FAMILY WANTS, WHAT THEIR PEERS WANT OR TO RUN WITH THE PACK. EVERYONE WOULD LIKE TO BE ACCEPTED AND BE CONSIDERED NORMAL. would you say this is a true statement? (anyone can answer)

the reason why BLTG persons decide to go against the pact is becuase those feelings are just to strong and it hurts too bad to keep denying themselves. many decide it is not worth it to go through their entire life hurting and living a lie, they would rather be who they truely are and accept the back lash from society. would you rather a person that felt attracted to the same sex surpress those feelings and conform to society, go on to date and marry have kids etc and live thier life in pain? (that is truely deception)

It baffles me how people can compare racism against black people, to discrimination against homosexuals.
There is no comparison at all, and anyone who thinks there is, does not know how much of an insult that is to black people.

i think it is comparable.

blacks were blamed for being black, some really extreme racist thought it was a black persons fault for being born black = today it is the same for BLT

blacks were killed for being black = today it is the same for BLT

blacks were the butts of many jokes = today it is the same for BLT

blacks were considered less than = today it is the same for BLT

blacks were considered defective = today it is the same for BLT

when a black entered a room they turned heads, people wispered = today it is the same for BLT

why should this accurate comparison be considered to be an insult to a black person

Wicked people.

from what i remeber the bible says you should hate the actions of the person not the person. i would like to address what you said in post 278.

"america displayed their stance against gays in the last election" i would have to disagree, AMERICA displayed a stance against gay marriage not gays. also that presentation was only represtative of voters. i am somewhat against gay marriage but not against gays. i think america simply isnt there yet on the issue but in a few years it will be legal in every state.

'bahamians are educated on homosexuality" i burst out luaghin at the site of that line. (not in an insulting way, it just took me by surpise) i have to strongly disagree with that. the typical bahamian knows nothing about homosexuality (BLTG), they may think they know but they dont. all they know and have been trained to know is man das nasty man; boy/girl dont grow up to be no sissy. the number of bahamians that have actually took it upon themselves to research sexuality, human social behavior, childhood development, watch documentaries on the issue etc is far and few in between. it is safe to say the typical bahamian views of homosexulity is based on the over all bahamian society mentality, it is definatly not based on their own research.

do you go to the barber shop in nassau? have you ever attended a baptist church in nassau for about a year? do you see they way people get riled up when there is a gay cruise ship about to dock? do you notice the way many bahamians facial expressions change when they see a clearly gay person and when they person is outta sight a hearty convo and mockery ensues? let the prime minister of the bahamas come out of the closet (hypothetical situation) and you will see how heated bahamains are on the issue. i spend about 3 months a year in the bahamas and i notice these things, so you must walk around with your eyes and ears close.

David said it best in Psalms 139:17-24

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You. 19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God! Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men. 20 For they speak against You wickedly; Your enemies take Your name in vain. 21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? 22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them my enemies. 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24 And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

The way I see America going now I am sure that they will have every state in the future. But that's another issue. As for voters, if they were for gays then they would have no problem with gay unions.

are you trying to insult me and move me to anger? well i have news for you i have matured way beyond that. you are the perfect example of what is wrong in the bahamas, and what will eventually cuase its down fall if ignorance like yours continues to plague bahamian society.

BTW- FYI some of the biggest gays are those who strongly oppose it

1. Manhood and womanhood are roles defined by society.

2. There are times when I feel like killing a person, these feelings are normal. Are you advocating that I should ignore such a strong impulse just as you advocate a homosexual or crossdresser are justified in giving into their impulses??

3. Yes I do expect homosexuals to live their lives in shame and pain, life is pain. We all experience pain. We all live with it unwillingly. My grandmother died. I didn't want to live my life in denial about my anger or about my pain. But, life isn't about me. Life is shared. It is unfair for me to live amongst others and force them to accept my impulses and desires. Why should a homosexual get preferential treatment.
