thanks vicki for the link...um Mikki, now, i have quite alot of respect for you, just as i do many others on this board! we might all have different views, but that is the point of a forum...however, one thing which digusts me - i mean, which i find totally dispicable and revolting is use of the 's' word! you have lost some credibilty with me there bro... :sparky:

Well I wouldn't say he lost credibility, his points are strongly credible, and well supported, however there is no need for using derrogatory words.

Keep your comments coming, just don't degrade your posts by using that type of language again Mikki.

Re: Heterosexuals speaking about Homosexuality.

Has anybody ever heard of Feenoman?? There's a tribe of indigenous people in Northern Africa who believe in a deity they refer to as "Feenoman". These Feenomanites have worshipped Feenoman for centuries. Because this is a localized belief, they are the only ones privy to knowledge of Feenoman. One day a group of anthropologists and other researchers came upon this tribe and decided to study the Feenoman phenomenon. They are referred to as Feenomanists. On one hand you had believers being studied by non-believers. The non-believers obviously could only study Feenoman through interaction with Feenomanites. Their study consisted of taking one believer at a time and asking questions about Feenoman. They discovered something strange. Some Feenomanites said that Feenoman was male. Some Feenomanites said Feenoman was androgenous. Some Feenomanites said Feenoman was a butterfly. Some Feenomanites said that Feenoman was an eternal being. Some Feenomanites said that Feenoman died at sunset and came back to life at sunrise. Because every Feenomanites believed that his or her experience was personal, they all believed that their particular relationship or experience of Feenoman was the experience every Feenomanite should experience.

The Feenomanists, however, came up with an objective sketch of Feenoman. A being comprised of all of the individual contributions of the Feenomanites.

*Of course there is no such God known as Feenoman, I just did it to prove a point. The homosexual experience is not universal among homosexuals, but there is still a way to be objective about the phenomenon without having to experience homosexuality. Hermenuetics is the "experience", in a manner of speaking. But we aren't discussing the experience. We are discussing the phenomenon of homosexuality. It is really a lame cop-out to claim that only homosexuals can discuss homosexuality or that only homosexuals know more about homosexuality. I think we call that a red-herring.

If such were true, then all discussion would cease. Only I could speak of my experience and everyone else would speak of their experience. When Vicky says "heat" I wouldn't know what she's talking about because her "heat-experience" is hers alone. When Bahmaboy says "hunger" I wouldn't know what he's talking about because to him "hunger" means something completely different. So how do we communicate??

First of all, we get rid of stupid arguments like "because you aren't homosexual you can't speak about it".

* This is taken from the book "Consciousness Explained". The same illustration is drawn with consciousness. We first have to define what consciousness is. But everyone's consciousness is different.

But they still could not understand Feenoman as those that were Feenomanites. Who is more qualified to speak of Feenoman a Feenomanite or Feenomanist? My book says Feenomanites they live they experience.

I did not say only. What I am saying is who is more qualified to talk about homosexuality a heterosexual or a homosexual???

What happened Delroy you going to close this thread like you did the last one.
Is it that you can't handel the fact that GLBT phobes are reaching the bottom of the barrel of bigotry and can't hold their ground. This is the process this type of discussion must go through.

People This is not the first time Delroy has cut us off.

That's a lie. I really think you need help Vicky and I am not saying that to be funny or anything. You seem to be a very hurting person.

You are always welcome to open a new thread but for now this one is closed.
