I was at Clifford Park watching the Independence celebrations, and at the beginning of the ceremony, the defence force rangers had a parade of the flag of every groupd of Islands fron The Abacos to the Inaguas. Is there anyone who distributes those flags, or are those the only flags in existance? I want to get one, or see if I can get a Grand Bahama flag. Or just the emblem.

I was at a function last January in Nassau, and saw a similar parade where flags of the Family Islands were displayed. They are absolutely beautiful, and I would certainly love to get my hands on a few of them.

I asked our local Tourism Director for some assistance in getting one, but no luck so far.

Sooooooooooo, if anyone knows how to obtain these flags, please, please advise us. Thanks!!

And, if I can get something in the form of a car flag and desk flag it would be perfect!

Bahamian Flag on one side, GB flag on the other!

Perhaps Education, or Ministry of Culture would know more, The Ministry or department who puts together Independence celebrations In Nassau should know for sure.

I have never seen the flags for the islands, but in the Miami consulate, there are large shields for each group of islands. They are also on the government website.

This miight be what you are talking about.

That link just brought up a point I raised a few months back (thanks for the link Williams, I am gonna see what I can make using the crest). Why isn't the Bahamas Government official website being kept up to date with current information? Isn't that the point of reference for official info on our country's government?

Who responsible for that website? Is it BIS? Tings like da dis run me hot. If they can't keep it up to date I'd be happy to refer them to someone who can do it for them. Sheesh! Keep it up to date or TAKE IT DOWN!

If only they got as much attention as the party web sites.....or the Ministry of Tourism's. Seriously I don't think government remembers that it has a web site!

You know, I had to go back and look at the page again because I could not figure out what it was yall find so out of date... then I noticed that it had not been updates since 2001! The PLP came and went and did nothing! They really must do better.

For a long time the FNM site was dead, but it started being updated in late 2005. The PLP site was dead until right after the re-launch of the FNM site, and then, their site was only a mirror of the FNM! So, I think there has been neglect of the Internet as a medium for too long, but that seems to be changing.

National Security is responsible for flags in the Bahamas.
