Man folks gat to escape for a bit. It's dangerous out there!

i didnt hear that! i listened to gems and they said that their injuries were non fatal. one was shot in the leg and one was shot in the butt.

While I am not surprised, I am outraged. Unless we DEMAND that the powers that be take an extreme approach to this problem NOTHING will change. What is more, regrettably this victim will not be the last, its TUESDAY and the mayhem has not abated. What are we to expect on the weekend when the "gun & knife club" are out in full force.

These continuing murders [imho] are an indictment of us all ; as parents, siblings, teachers, pastors, politicians etc. we have ill-prepared our children to deal with the challenges of modern life. Children do not give birth to themselves and therefore ought not to be raising themselves. But as a someone once said ..... if Bahamian kids want the American Dream, they will also have to accept the American Nightmares.

What a nightmare this is proving to be!!

So............. We ready to admit that there is probably no BAHAMIAN capable of coming up with a sensible plan to combat crime. We need some foriegn development assistance ................

My way of life HAS already changed for the worse and it will continue to get even more worse before the "power that be" get a handle on what is going on. I know of at least one home invasion that happened recently in a supposed safe area. If i said where it was your jaw would drop. This island has turned into a living nightmare! I want a gun myself now but still hate the things so will hold off for a bit, but my taser is charged and ready along with the spear by my front door, machete under my bed and couch! Boy, it is a thrill to live in such a SAFE and CALM nation! NOT!!

Nah Sunny it ain't a matter of foreign being betta. Fact of the matter is there is no respect for authority by the citizens on a large scale bcause everyone know someone who will work it out for you. No matter what it is. We are too much of an insular society and we give too much breaks. Point Blank.......... I home to do interviews and trust me.... guns easier to find than a bar with a 3 for 5 beer special. Everyone gat one or immediate access to one and dudes couldn't give a damn about what the fiscal situation is of the Bahamas or sun sand and sea. No time and no concern fa who educated and who ain't.... the majority of young men from teens to adult would take you out in a heartbeat and honestly think nothing of it. And alot of this ain't just ova da hill anymore. It right in the East and the West.... in the treelined areas etc. Police find it hard to execute strategy when someone will talk the information b4 it's executed. Das just a fact of the matter. Our strategy and strategist needs to be changed and thus far there is vision but no serious enforcement or commitment.........

So unless we admit that........ get ready to create plenty more of threads like this during this year.

Preach I say!!!!!! Sometimes our "pride" is really just arrogance. Watch.... the nation will have national prayer services for about a week and will calm the "spirits" of everyone for a while. Couple preachers ga come on TV and all say "We have a problem." Then everyone will ask for hangings, which ain't gonna happen. Then Amnesty Int'l ga reiterate how they against hangings from their office in "our" country.... and we will back down cuz God forbid we loose couple tourist cuz of what they may write about us.Then we ga break out with another week of 3 or so murders.. then I bet you all participants on this thread will be right back here saying.... Oh my God not another murder again. It is all just a sad reflection on our perception of being serious about sovereignty and civil order.
