Them black Americans really think black Bahamians common like them.
Teniel 07-17-07, - 11:44 PM So he focused his rant on the continental US, and then came to us. I guess we are the 52nd state (I forget the number of states in the Union)?
Ting-um 07-18-07, - 12:35 AM What did he say about the Bahamas?? It seemed to me he was talking about black people in general and he just mentioned the Bahamas. I keep telling yall, these people have no shame. Say something to me again when I tell yall these black people real stupid.
bahmaboy 07-18-07, - 12:46 AM hiphop- why did u google comedy bahamas? are you a fan of stand up comedy. i am, i love it. i have seen many stand up shows and the number one for me is still Martin Lawrence You So Crazy.
of course right now Kathy Griffin is at the top of her game. i never thought i would see her get so far.
any way on to this dude in the video.
i dont see why he had to spit when he went on to talk about the bahamas? there is a fine line between comedy and disrespect.
i did find it funny when he said dumb no condom wearin azzes. that was funny.
any way i am curious to know what his ties are to the bahamas or whether or not he got his material from reading sites like this.
i am gonna see if i can email him to find out

And of all the "black countries" of the world, he chose us to make fun of. Clearly the man thinks we just like them...He is mistaken though.

Not actually speaking for myself or any of 'us' here :shhh: .........but.............I can see why he would think we are just like them..........If it weren't for deadbeat parents here I don't think our crime rate would be so horribly high. All, and any of us who drive through the streets of Nassau everyday, can see groups of young men just hanging out in the middle of the workday, everyday.
I mean, we don't like to hear outsiders say the obvious. We say it all the time but let someone else say it then we get bent out of shape. Heaven help him if he was WHITE:footmouth , some of us with the hurt feelings would be calling for a BOYCOT. (sp is deliberate)

That's fine and dandy.
What happens when you speak the truth about them. If you survive the flogging of being called a sellout or uncle tom I'd be very surprised.
I have no issue with outsiders criticizing me, but only if those outsiders are in a position to critique. If their crime rates are three times as high as ours then they should shut up. If they're three times as likely to create fatherless children then they should shut the he!! up. If they have three times the opportunity, resources and benefits that we do yet they still remain insignificant in government, the most likely to drop out of college, and most likely to end up in jail - then they need to be taking criticism from us.
FACTS ONLY 07-18-07, - 09:22 AM Who is EVER in a position to criticise? When we think we can get on our soapbox to throw fire and brimstones, it won't be long before someone reminds us no not go there cos of what we did or said in the past.
Just as an example, we have Leslie Miller who felt crime at his own doorstep complaining about the high level of murder. Leslie's complaint is quite legitimate, and I support him in that, but you still have folks who are asking what he complaining about as when he was in a position to do something meaningful he did nothing?
Does that mean Leslie cannot complain? I don't think so. Maybe Leslie's hands were tied. Maybe he did not get the support he needed. Leslie lacks tact, so maybe he turned some of his own members off by his grassroot ideas.
If I am the only one in my family who did not have babies before marriage or run around, can I not criticise people who do without someone saying 'go tell ya ma and pa dat, you een in no position to tell no one how to run dere life cos ya family full a dirt?'
Why do we care who this man is or what he thinks about us. I call it comedy. They do it on BET and Comedy Def Jam all the time.
Ting-um 07-18-07, - 09:29 AM *EVERYONE* is in a position to criticize. That's my point. The thing is, we can take it - they can't. The ones who need it the most.

WE CAN TAKE IT!! :jawdroop: You been away too long ey? LOL
Ting-um 07-18-07, - 09:57 AM Nope.
When the US decided to put pressure on the Bahamas criticizing us for being complicite in the war on drugs. Then again in regard to offshore banking. All that is stuff we took and couldn't fight back. Even though the US was the biggest perpetrator on both counts. Criticism from the US comes in many forms, the biggest and most effective being economic.

Ahhh........now you have a good point. Big Brother picking on Little Brother and expecting Little Brother to do what they, Big Brother, cannot, nor have the will to do!! ie..war on drugs.
One black jackazz using us as his little joke in a stand up routine viewed by few people is an entirely different story and does not even qualify for sound judgement and reason.
