While many locals continue to be baffled by the country's rising murder rate, one newly formed group has come up with an action plan that they say will help curb violent crime.
Members of Coalition of Citizens Against Violent Crime — made up of organizations such as The Crisis Center, The Group for the Protection of Children, Families Against Murder, The Professional Security Association of The Bahamas, The Bahamas Christian Council and a number of concerned citizens — have been analyzing and discussing the nation's crime problem over the past six weeks.
And yesterday the group released a document entitled "Action Plan for Violent Crime." The six-page document offers "strategic outlines" which the Coalition insisted will help stem the tide of violent crimes.
