Officers who allegedly brutalized a man while he was in his jail cell may face criminal charges if he dies.

Desmond Key, who was allegedly beaten by police and as a consequence has been hospitalized since June 11, is now battling for his life. He stopped breathing and was admitted to the Princess Margaret Intensive Care Unit [ICU] four days later. He has since undergone surgery and remains in critical condition in the ICU.

this hapened june 11, so why is the public just hearing about it. what do they mean the cops will face criminal charges IF he dies, it sounds as though they already assualted the man. (depending on the facts of the case)

bahamas cops simply have no broughtupsy/no proper training/no people skills/social skills and the list goes on and on

let me see if i read this right.
this man was in jail,lockup ,under police protection and still end up in hospital.come on! i would like to know for what reason was he beaten? who did the beating?and who all was involve in thIS act.?all of them should be fired on the spot.at
lease all those who was on duty at the time.IF this was done by the police.

I dont know, I cant personally comment as I dont know the facts, I only posted the article from the guardian's web site ;)

This was in the paper before, it came back up because his condition got worse. This is so sad, lets hope justice is served.

When I told yall that those police officers who disobeyed a direct order from the commissioner not to wear their association shirts at the polls, yall thought that it was not a big deal...

Also when I said that those officers who did should be punished yall thought that I was stupid so what are yall complaining about????
The commissioner has allowed the officers to fall into the same trap that former PM PC allowed his crew to fall into by not disaciplining them when he should have!!!

When HI fired Steve and Russell at a political event yall thought that there was nothing wrong with that so what's wrong with a few officers touching-up a prisoner here and there???

That will be in line with what has gone on so far under this new govt so what???

Now I should complain because I had a problem with PC when he let everthing go and I complained when HI did what he did and I complained when the commissioner did what he did!!!

The people are just following their leaders!!!

We must show respect and discipline from the top or things will continue to get out of order!!!

Yall have to make up yall minds and decide that wrong is wrong and right is right and not cover for persons because they support your political party or atleast appear to!!!!

Hey, this explains all those acts of police misconduct before the elections.
Man ain everything about politics, like every organization the police gat some bad apples thats all.

I dont know the whole story so I will only say this

The officers are taught that their level or response should match the level of resistance the suspect/prisoner shows....that being said...perhaps the reason they will only be charged IF the guy dies is because they were justified in their response to his resistance and did not assault him.

Again let me add that I do not know any of the facts of this case and am only guessing at a POSSIBLE reason the officers were not charged as yet.
