View Full Version : Leslie Miller on Channel 14
bahamiangoddess 08-03-07, - 09:18 PM Leslie Miller on Channel 14 saying that the P.L.P looked out for the White Bahamians and sent business their way and they turned around and voted F.N.M and gave the F.N.M money to campaign.
He also said that HE DID NOT LOSE, the people of Blue Hills lost a good man. He is pointing fingers for the P.L.P's lost. Very interesting!!!
I am watching. He says White a lot! lol. :)

If anything he is correct on saying some of the things he said, for this government has this Bahamas in a stand still. The previous didn't mess up, this government is doing a far worst job at it and is only in its third month already! And don't say that they only been in for such and such a time... they were the government from 92 to 2002!
I am truly getting tired of these no substance retort by politically-inclined people on this board who can't see beyound the rhetorics being portrayed to fit the means.... while our country is in limbo.
The political rhetorics need to end and we need to look objectively and wholeheartedly about the future and wellbeing of our Bahamaland.
The future looks bleak with all of the contract reviewing and cancellation, victimization and a host of missteps taking place.
People Don't let your eyes deceive you! Call a spade a spade and not let the scales on your eyes keep you blind to the facts of what is truly happening in our country.

Please take some of your own advice-- Listen, I am a strong bahamian women. I for one and VERY happy they are reviewing these contracts, they would be careless if they didn't. 3.1 mil for a school ( or shelter) to housed all of 200 people? Man dis we money eh? Can we not have a say if you give a contract for road works and then have to buy the contractor a truck???
Give me one den so I can make some money-- YES LOOK AT EVERYTHING-- TWICE!!
Minister Prime Minister--- Please sir review ALL contracts and see if the commitees and teh sub commitees and the consultants of the sub commitees have indeed made the right choice and will not cause ME (maybe you don't care) more money.
Are you further saying that the BLACK & WHITE I am showed in the forms of HEADS of AGREEMENTS are false? or should I PRETEND they don't exist?
Please tell me sir/madam what I should do???

Did you see black or white mentioned here. I said "some of the things he was correct"... where is the reference to black or white?
The contracts that were done under the previous government should have been honoured just like it was when the PLP honoured the FNMs when they became the government in 2002.
When you start to rationalize what's truly going in this country and get beyound the politrcks, then we can have a more meaningful debate on this board.

did they cancel all contracts?
BTW its common knowledge in the Bahamas that to get a government contract you gotta pay someone off, so its quite understandable that if a government was to come into power that cared about how the money is being spent, they would check every existing contract to make sure the work is to be done properly .. im not saying the FNM is doing this either, I dont know about that.

Like the clinic in Abaco that was stopped? Please NO party is ALL right and NO party is ALL wrong
Listen As I said before I am not die hard to any party.. Please don't mix me up. I am stating facts that are in out faces as BAHAMIANS. Do we have a right to see what money was spending and for what?
Lets talk for the good of our bahamaland, can we afford to spend nilly willy? Are you saying that we don't have the right to question? Just a thought
One thing Mr. Miller did say that struck a note with me was that the system is so gummed up with civil servants that is does not matter who is in power. If they don't want it done, it don't get done.
Just Food For Thought 08-03-07, - 11:46 PM Lets talk for the good of our bahamaland,
Now you are talking to me here! I am looking for people who can put a side the political innuendos and partisan of things and get to the nitty gritty of what is happening to our country. Only on that part though, the rest you need to look hard on.

Do tell what facts are you talking about? Just on that one thing compared to the rest of the things that they [PLP] honoured?
I will tell you this, when one can criticize both Parties without being biased towards one, tells me that they are what they claim; but it behooves me to believe that when person constantly stress that they are not this or that and that they don't align themselves with one or the other, but their words and comments says differently.... makes one tend to wonder.
Do we have a right to see what money was spending and for what?
Yes I think we have a right to that, but all we have been getting is things are under review etc. etc.... and have yet to get any answer as to whether they have found any miss givens.
Furthermore, when you look up lately, later you hear it was canceled due to this and that without any proper explanation. Now Tell me, does that seem sound to you?
Another thing, did the FNM government carefully and soundly did right with the contracts they had within the ten years that they were in power? Did the PLP reviewed all of their contracts like the FNM is doing now? No.
This government said that they would be swift in their governance and that has yet to been seen. Now that's Food For Thought! :hammer:

I really don't see your bi-partianship (sp) here-- Again don't judge what you can not stand up to. My simple point is that ALL contract have to be reviewed.
If The Former PLP did not see fit to do that to ALL then that is entirely on them. Ok Let's talk about one Contract then and dysect it.
The Straw Market.
Now I do not begin to know all of the details but what I do know is that. (Correct me if I wrong)
1. A complete set of drawing was not on the table when they started to work couple weeks before elections (May 2nd, 2007)
2. This contract was switched from the orginal bid and it was never sent back to bid. There were co. that bid on what the gov before 2002 put in place and was told that it was to high - re summit -- only to find out that it was now a "new" design and now going to jump in price from 6mil to some 25+ mil.
3. For the "new design, the proposed amount was nowhere enough to complete that 4-story structure that would have needed piles to sustain the stucture.
If you begin like this then what will be your outcome? You start spending money that you did not plan to in the first place.
All I am saying is that if we use this contract as a template, Should we not look at all? Just to make sure?
hey I am not look for a war of words just a good clean debate.
