See I'm feeling your question right there. To each his/her own, but when female comedians get up and curse and carry on for an hour it doesnt come out like it does when comedians like Bernie Mack, etc curse in their routines.

There are lots of female comedians with potty-mouths that are just as or more successful than Bernie Mac.

The problem with Mo'nique is that most comedians use humor to convey or hide their pain. But if you humanize the pain, then its nothing to laugh at anymore. Like Richard Pryor used to make jokes about doing drugs and being a nigger, then when he started having problems those jokes weren't funny anymore and he had to find new material. Just like Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle had to. Mo'nique hasn't done that yet.

It was like...a room that could hold only 1000 seats...all them taken...300 standing against a wall...and 1000 outside, pissed that they couldn't get in. We had VIP tickets and had to sit at the back of the room...only to find that there were only a few speakers at the front so those at the back could not hear a thing...the show should have started at 9 SHARP...it started at 11...I was home by 11:30. There were persons on the outside carrying on bad and the promoters were taking your name and number so as to call you for a refund...They're probably on customer number 992 because I haven't gotten a call all day!

Comedians who cuss can be funny. But I find that Mo'nique tries too hard. She's crass, vulgar and cusses gratuitously.
I don't think she's funny at all. Funny-looking, maybe. But not funny. She needs to reinvent her act. Dissing normal sized people is getting old fast.

this is why i dont go to live shows unless i am really bored and buying good seats. i find its better to just buy the DVD.

also i dont find monique funny. her act is the same curse curse curse fat good curse curse curse skinny bad curse curse.

i find that she just says a whole lot of nothing.

It was a complete disater......to say the least. Got there 8:30pm, was seated by 8:50pm.

1) Security or lack thereof, very unorganized and led to total confusion as to where the line started and where it should end. This consequently led to pandamonium as more people came and was just standing in the middle of nowhere. So much so, that it ended up being a free for all, and who could get to the door first.

2) Inadequate seating, clearly they sold more tickets than they were prepared to have seats for.

3) DJ & Sound system was terrible. It was laffable to me, the poor execution of the sound engineering personnel. Music was WAY too loud, and the mic kept cutting in and out. What a joke! It was soo bad that Mo' nique took some time to blast the promoter for such a poorly executed event, and demanded that people get a refund!

4) Mo'niques raw approach probably offended a few people, especially when she told her God/Jesus/Religious jokes.

Overall it was atrocious :tdown: Phat Grooves and whoever else was involved in promoting and hosting this event, did a terrible job! Clearly was not worth the ticket price!!

...and how DID you get in in 20 minutes? It took me almost 2 hours to go around that line!
