If they lower the discount rate I'm leaving this country.

I hope Bernanke laughs, grabs his b@lls and stomps out.

LOL. I aint say nothing about coming back to Nassau. They too jokey. How you have fiscal and monetary policy decided by the same people?? That's like working for the same person that you owe all ya money to. When they want more money they pay you less and charge you more - and you get stuck with nothing. They is take yall for poppie show. I aint trying to deal with that.

But that's some craziness if Bernanke folds under pressure from Wall Street to provide liquidity. I don't even want to think about it. I have a really bad feeling he'll have to justify LTCM.

I am sure the Chinese, Hong Kong, Dubai or the Canadians would welcome your expertise, especially if you sell yourself as "a specialist in emerging West Indian markets"...

Yes, Long-Term Capital.

Actually, I'll apply to Stockholm School of Economics or LSE. I like both of their programs. Heavily quantitative PhD programs, which is my weakness but also where I want to learn the most.

The Bahamas imports a lot of things. If the price of gas is expensive in America, then everything the Bahamas imports from America becomes more expensive.

The Price of oil on the markets directly effects the price of gas in the Bahamas.

Thats fine and dandy, but all we care about is the bottom line, what we got to pay at the pump ...

Caring about the bottom line is VERY important. I agree...

...But if you don't watch the math of the folks in charge who calculate that bottom line, they will rip you off.

That is the problem in the Bahamas. We don't watch how our leaders are spending our money.

They get away with adding a high gas tax in the Bahamas with little real resistance from the people.

That's the sad part.

You have to be concerned about cost *BEFORE* you get to the bottom line. If you go to buy a car or a house and just ask for the bottom line, you don't really know what you paying for or why.

You mentioned the Dow though, its illegal for Bahamians to go near it, plus most Bahamians to broke to do so even if they were allowed to .. so we cant comment on that ... Ofcourse we know we getting ripped but thats life. :D
