heard it from some Spanish Wells people I know living here in Nassau. This is not 100% verified yet but the story is this:
2 Spanish Wells Fishermen diving from a 20+' boat somewhere near Andros and the Berry Islands (?), while one was in the water the other was on the boat, meanwhile an American Scarab being run by a US Doctor and his family, ran into the Fishermen's boat and cut it into pieces.
The Doctor had put it on Auto Pilot (?) and then went down to the cabin. The Fisherman in the water diving felt a tug on the cable he was attached to and came up to find their boat in pieces. The other fisherman who had been on the boat was critically injured from the accident and his injuries included extreme internal and external injuries which may or may not have been caused by the Scarab's powerful motors.
Apparently the Coast Guard picked him up and took him to Nassau, where he was then driven to the hospital. The Coast Guard landing is on the other side of the island so I imagine that drive from there to the Hospital did not help.
While I was speaking with the people I know, they came off the phone with someone and said the man had just succumbed to his injuries.
This is not 100% verified, but I would say the source is good.
Now I wonder what will happen to the American person that was driving the scarab?
This was in Bahamian waters by the way.
