View Full Version : Its Payback time
bb359 08-08-07, - 10:31 PM :bouncy: Vote for me and you will get your citizenship.
Is this a payback for those persons who alleged to have not been Bahamian Citizens but voted FNM in the last election? If this is so and I am not saying that it is, don't our politicians have any shame? My God Elections just gone 3 months ago and already they doing this and haven't even done anything for the Bahamians of this country so far. What is the rush? The other thing that is being said by this so call move is that the FNM is attempting to muddy the field in the event of an early General Election, knowing that persons who achieve their citizenships by this means would be eternally grateful to them and would most certainly vote FNM. Just something to think about saw the story in the journal.

gullyrock 08-08-07, - 10:40 PM Although anything is possible in politics, I feel that our illegal immigrant problem is of major concern. If the government can "separate" and identify those who have status and legal rights, then it may be easier to deal with those here illegally. And the eyes of the world is on us when dealing with the immigrant problem, so we must be sure that all is done to protect their human rights.
I saw on the news tonight that 2 person who went to the audit today found out that they had already been granted citizenship. Because they had no address for their mail to be forwarded their approval letters sat in the immigration dept. What a pleasant surprise for them!
Yep, the Government should just sit back and do absolutely nothing, otherwise they will be seen as doing their job in order to buy votes. :shaky:

That's how it works bro!!!
That's exactly what happened just before the May 2nd election with the former govt!!
They had five years to carry out their agenda and they chose to dishout 90 million in contracts during their final months in office and they were mashedup by this govt!!
But ya see this govt as well as the former govt think that there will be an election in the near future which is why this govt chose now rather than after the election court cases have started!!
And that's my five cents!!!
GB-Bahamian-Boy 08-09-07, - 03:16 AM I love the idea of this audit.
It's about time the government is taking swift and tangible action which can be both seen and measured at it relates to our illegal immigration Problem. Personally, the one thing, above anything else in our country that I think all sides need to agree on is a strong policy regarding illegal Immigration.
Come on Ingraham and Perry ! Dis yall time to show 'brotherly love" and veed dem out! !!!
Ingraham: Good lawd the country den gone gone
Christie: All ya here is complaining
Ingraham: All dey do is come in our country and mess tings up
Christie: We need a solution
Ingraham: We need a new policy
Chrsitie: Cause illigals bring us shame
Christie and Hubert: Ohhh….We veedin dem out out out out out good lawd......

Politrickal Conspiracy Theories, there is no proof to any of it, and the next election is set for 2012. ;)
However when one pushes through certain contracts and does other things they could have very easily done over the past 5 years, right before an actual set election date, then it is quite obvious; even a bat can see that.
Any talk of another election in the near future other than the listed one in 5 years time, is simply wishful thinking on the party that lost.
Since they still have certain privileges that the average joe (us) do not, I suggest that they actually try to do some good for the country instead of talking BS and living in LA LA land. Apart from their groupie fan base, nobody cares anymore about their little power hungry hard ons, they need to move on and deal with business, or go play in traffic with a potcake.
And if by some miracle they pull off an unwarranted early election, personally I would loose any kind of human respect I ever would have had for them, their fan base, and the name of their party.

Politrics is conspiracy theory, muddled in with gross malfeasance and corruption. Just like business, the politics game is filled with unashamed attempts to use and abuse power. With that, the Prime Minister can call an election any time before 2012; it is just that he MUST call one by May 2012.
However when one pushes through certain contracts and does other things they could have very easily done over the past 5 years, right before an actual set election date, then it is quite obvious; even a bat can see that.
What does THAT, have to do with setting up a fake attempt, to sell the Bahamian birthright, to the Haitians, who they despise en-masse by the way, in order to use them yet again to maintain their power, at the expense of the average Bahamian?
To be fair, like how we see NOW, the months right before, and, after an election IS the time where contracts are given out, and money is spent. This is what happens everywhere. Just like the FNM pulled the scholarship deal in 2002.....and like how they are "re-routing" contracts to their FNM friends.
I heard that they are planning to not move the container port, to the south of Nassau. And, where it is now, the people who are in power are "very close" to, or, own outright it's space. I mean, you did NOT have to give me all of the facts, for me to see what it is. My thing is, if the port will NOT be moved to the original spot, due to this contract recall foolishness and fear that it is political, which it is and nothing is out of sync with it, pray tell, are you going to give it to an FNM supporter during the middle of your term?
I have heard that seemingly patent liar, Devaux, on air, say that "he did not know the contractor who got the new contract to builf the dock in Long Island, and that he picked it off a list"...but....ten minutes later, he said, "he did not say that he did not know the contractor, just that he did not know that he picked him"....I can go on and on....
With this, back to immigration, knowing the allegations of gross corruption and the way the immigration department has been derelict in their duties, how would we know that this is in fact, a worthy exercise to target only Haitians who fit the criteria for citizenship? This has serious scandal and catastrophe written all over it, and, the FNM has sold out the Bahamian people and their supporters, and their children yet again; swathed in a lie to boot. Sick power hungry men and women indeed.
Any talk of another election in the near future other than the listed one in 5 years time, is simply wishful thinking on the party that lost.
Dude. It is HUBERT INGRAHAM, who alluded to an early election. Not the PLP. The PLP just took their grievance to the election court, and by all accounts, by the illegal immigrants who were on the list from 1996 and maybe even before that, to the claim that Turks Islanders were flown into Grand Bahama to vote, shows you that there is a credible case to be made that gross negligence in the parliamentary registrar has been going on for YEARS. The party that LOST, has just found out how deep and disgusting this gross neglect of duties by the civil service, prodded on by their opponents, has cost them an election and with that, the birth right of Bahamian mothers and fathers, who have poured blood sweat and tears into this economy, so that their kids can have a better future and to NOT be like Haiti or Jamaica.
Selling their birthright is EVIL. Disgusting and yet again, this band of thugs and hoodlums, have my disdain.

The FNM has the same privilege. With this, who says that they are NOT doing anything else for this country? Maybe YOU should stop trying to pander to the party that showed you that the PLP hates whitey. Racist bastards they are....
:taped2:
Dude, the FNM has MILLIONAIRES, who remain "silent" until and only until election comes around; they do not do anything special, or, different than anyone else. In fact, the unashamedly do what they see fit, at the expense of everyone else.
In addition, the PLP with it's many supporters, can cover both sides of this; so too can the FNM if the shoe was on the other foot. Just that the FNM, would have used the government funds to do it for them.
:shhh:
Apart from their groupie fan base, nobody cares anymore about their little power hungry hard ons, they need to move on and deal with business, or go play in traffic with a potcake.
How are those mayonnaise sandwiches Rory? You put a piece of "sauchis" between it yet? How’s about a piece of cheese? The cameras came in yet, so you can upgrade from old white bread, to good whole-wheat for your health buddy boy?
:gi:
Is the kool-aid any sweeter too??

Shut up Rory. You TRIED to sound informed, but, like you should be doing is just sticking to your one liner's and stupid little remarks, that SHOWS you are a mayonnaise sandwich eating inbred, who does not know the world around him. I like you like that, well, I like you both ways because I can make fun of ya.
The Prime Minister, Hubert Alexander Ingraham, and only HE, as he has stated beating his chest like a baboon, has the power to call an early election. Not the PLP, so, if anyone you should be upset with for an early election being called, it is the Prime Minister, Hubert Alexander Ingraham.
NO ONE, and I mean, NO ONE, eluded to, or, called for an early election aside from HIM. He said "bring it on"......and...."he will not let the courts decide the election". So, he would have to go back to the people, but, instead of THIS TIME, having nothing but illegal immigrants pad the register, he will legitimize them so that HE can get their vote in a possible early election, or, whenever it is called.
The Bahamian people should be OUTRAGED, by the fact that this man, is not only is selling away your birthright as Bahamians, but, using it as a political machine for HIM and the FNM to get votes; and, has the nerve to lie about it, and, shroud it in some veiled attempt to "help" the situation for Bahamians. Not caring for the people who truly are the ones we are trying to help, but simply using a MALFUNCTIONING immigration department, marred with allegations of corruption and scandals, and money for papers, to head up this venture at the expense of the Bahamian people.
There is NO RUSH, to take care of illegal immigrants, before the needs of the Bahamian people. With that, this exercise is more than likely, ILL THOUGHT OUT by the FNM as this is NOT one of their planks that they ran on...or, did NOT run on.
:taped2:
You voted for them, so, this is what you get.
:hammer:
I KNEW, this exercise was full of horse radish, when I listened to Jeff Lloyd yesterday, and he is bleating away at "the Bahamian people, want the government to deal with immigration and that they should be sent home"....just two weeks before, he had on the most sappiest group of Haitian kids, crying for justice to be done to them and, the week before that, he had an immigrant symposium "who should be a citizen".....knowing the sincerity of some people, I KNEW, this is nothing more than a scheme, with the title switched around to mask what it is really doing; regularizing the illegal immigrants, who voted them in office at the expense of the Bahamian democracy.
THAT's, good governance for you in action from the government in the sunshine.

BLAH, BLAH, Blah. Jesus H Ingraham give it a fricken' rest. Election is over there is NOTHING to do now but let the chips fall where they may. I sense 5 years of pent up anger, very unhealthy. Rhetoric. Pandering to the needs of falkin immigrants, before they roll out any plan for the Bahamian people and their kids?

coakleysd 08-09-07, - 10:20 AM I think it's an excellent idea. That's why the PLP will never lead this counrty for the next 25 years. The FNM has seized the opportunity "whatever the motive" to open the doors for more people to be a part of shaping the country. Notice that it's all folks who are born in the Bahamas. Like Bush and Latinos, it's a brilliant political move. All the PLP strongholds like over-the-hill are GONE.
I don't know who's the think tank for the FNM but those folks are earnong every penny. Simply brilliant.
PLP's have become an elite clique and have lost the meaning of being Bahamian. No longer can we separate oursleves as Haitian, Trini, Jamaican, etc.. They play these race and cultural cards all the time and it will deny them control for years to come.

That's just it. It is just political, and as we have been saying, suring up votes because, if they did not feel that an election was comming, this would not be happening; regardless of what people think about it.
With that, the PLP strong-holds is what needs to be protected as EVERY BLACK BAHAMIAN, came out of that, or at least, the majority of them. Selling them out, for pure political convenience, is what it is. They did not run on this platform and are deviating from the script, if they had a script to deviate from.
:taped2:
I don't know who's the think tank for the FNM but those folks are earnong every penny. Simply brilliant.
This brilliant? This is patently obvious. But, anyone could have done it, IF, they lack the moral fibre, in regards to looking after the Bahamian interests, and the implications this can cause for increasing MORE illegal immigration.
This, like many things the FNM does, is ill thought out, in regards to securing Bahamian interests; whether they be over the hill, or, under the hill.
PLP's have become an elite clique and have lost the meaning of being Bahamian.
Both sides are. Just that the PLP is a little closer. You know why? Because they have to be. The FNM has been a power elite since it started. They have no regard, and, run unashamedly on the platform that does not speak to the issues in the Bahamas, because, they do not know nor do they care. Just what their elitist friends, as bourgeroise as they are, tell them is in the best interest of the Bahamas. WTO....Education....just to warm me falkin up.
:taped2:
No longer can we separate oursleves as Haitian, Trini, Jamaican, etc.. They play these race and cultural cards all the time and it will deny them control for years to come.
This was done before on independence day; this is nothing new. However, the circumstance and the sincerity to how it id being done, is DELETERIOUS to Bahamian interests for the future. But, they don't care and I expect nothing more from them, as I have been saying.
:taped2:
There is a time and place, to deal with the Haitian imigrant problem. Less than 6 months after an election, where the register was padded with illegal immigrants, and this is the claim of what swung the election, to look out for those people FIRST, and not the Bahamian children, education, health, or, crime, is OUT OF FALKIN ORDER. In all sense of the phrase. With that, the thought of an early election to boot with it, and they did not even run and ask the Bahamian people, WHO ARE VEHEMENTLY AGAINST ENDORSING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IN ANY SHAPE WAY OR FROM, is evil, it is wrong and it is selling the country to the falkin enemy. It is a corrupt move, and an abuse of power to win an election and it borders in falkin treason; knowing people have been on the register from 1996 and wrongfully so.
YOU, need to stop cheering for these political moves, with no thought to what is right by Bahamians, and look at the seirousness of our issues.
:hammer:
I am THRILLED, that the Haitians are not receptive to the move. God does work in mysterious ways. They need to FIX the falkin immigration system, so that it can be done in due process and NOT some fact track processing en-masse to illegal immigrants. This is to sure up votes, and the detriment of the Bahamian people; short and long term. And, for YOU, to claim it is brilliant political strategy, is just falkin silly beyond all immagination.
