They justwell move the port, because when the PLP get's back in office they will move it. I hope you don't think the stink FNM will be in office forever a? Everyday people are seeing the true colours of the FNM. licks2 08-14-07, - 12:22 PM Your so bias, they mighswell move the port because when the PLP get back in office they will move it, so they mighswell move it now. Then how are yall ger convince Albany that the port should be moved into their backyard? And why you callin me bias cos I think this fool gettin he azz handed to him by Jeff? Even if yall get back in power (not while perry leading yall)...the people een ger let yall do what yall feel like no more! So get use to it!    chancellor 08-14-07, - 12:32 PM Is there any suitable place really? I always though southwest would be a nightmare if they do not expand the number of lanes there. I believe they will still have to do that with the Albany project and proposed government subdivisions. And you still have the people that live along west bay from Caves Villiage through to Lyford.....do you really think they want 18-wheelers running through their area? Rory 08-14-07, - 12:38 PM move it to rose island and bring the goods in by helicopter. :D seriously though, we need bigger roads .. i tired of having to back up at that montague light when a big truck comes there to turn up on village road :( natureboy2136 08-14-07, - 12:39 PM Then how are yall ger convince Albany that the port should be moved into their backyard? So get use to it!    With all the spitful things the FNM is doing now & nobody is saying nothing, you mean to tell me that if in 2012 the PLP becomes the goverment again that people like you would complaine? I hope they have a very strong leader who don't take no ****. I sure as hell don't want to live under this FNM goverment. bahmaboy 08-14-07, - 12:42 PM the planning on putting gov housing out there to!!!!??? i think the gov needs to start looking at building gov condo's. each condo would be the size of a house and they will take up less space. honestly there are too many gov house communities in nassau. i seriously wonder what is going to happen when they run out of space. Rory 08-14-07, - 12:42 PM I sure as hell don't want to live under this FNM goverment. Dont say that man :( You may have differences with their ideas and such, but the country goes on as usual regardless of which political party is in power .. Anyway .. you must live .. for your family if anything. Life goes on man. ;) Free 08-14-07, - 12:44 PM Then how are yall ger convince Albany that the port should be moved into their backyard? Answer-us the consumer. There was an economical reason as to why the port was situated in the middle of town, for central location to remove goods at an affordable price to all parts of Nassau. Since the PLP thinks it is wise to have the ports moved, I hope they take into consideration the amount of money businesses will now have to add to transportation, with the port moving further and gas continually going up. I don't think much business will survive or if they do, the middle class of the Bahamas is going to shrink, because the cost of living will definitely increase. Perhaps, though one large warehouse is on Carmichael road, SuperValue. They distribute to the various stores from that location, so the trucks from the port need to go there first. natureboy2136 08-14-07, - 12:48 PM Dont say that man :( You may have differences with their ideas and such, but the country goes on as usual regardless of which political party is in power .. Well I don't wan tit moved there -- I have to live out there-- yes selfish but i beleive i speak for many BAHAMIANS who would not like that. What would happen toour property value? licks2 08-14-07, - 12:50 PM Nah this fool saying that the research initiated by the former government had not been completed...yet they were told that the best place to put the port is out west! And he had the heart to call the "suggestion" scientific! He also said that arawak cay is aman made island and carn bear the load of the port being situated on it...it could be an engineering nightmare! This fool don even know that the place was built to sustain such activities! Bouy...talk bout "government by seat of the pants"? Even norman solomon done told them that they need to get they fatcs straight before they open they mouths! But I carn fer the life of me see how these supposed "educated" peeps could talk so much azz and expect that nobody een ger see they fool? The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer has nothing to do with which government is in power, that is a promise/prophecy made in the Bible, it happens everyday, even under the PLP. islandgyal 08-14-07, - 12:52 PM the only solution that remains: relocate the city of nassau to cat island:angel: ... plenty room for a port in the bight! |
