A straw vendor and her two house mates were arrested yesterday after an early morning drug bust netted more than two dozen packages of marijuana in their home. The estimated street value of the drugs were not issued by police.
Although reports were sketchy up until press time, police reports indicated that shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers traveled to a home in southwestern New Providence and executed a search warrant.
"Officers found in that home some 24 packets of marijuana in a bedroom," said ASP Walter Evans of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. "In another room they also found three crocus bags of marijuana and also a quantity of marijuana in the refrigerator."
Police say the three women who were in the residence at the time of the search, were taken into police custody. They are expected to appear in court later this week.
