"Why are they not here to get the real story," Gibson asked, before answering his own question, "because they don't want to hear the truth."

However, when The Guardian contacted the Tribune's chief reporter Rupert Missick Jr., he said a reporter from the daily was not present because they had not been notified of the press conference.

"This was not unusual because several times when Shane Gibson was cabinet Minister he would call press conferences and The Tribune would not be informed and we would hear afterwards that we were deliberately ignoring his press conferences, which was not true," was the message Missick sent through another source.

"King" Eric Gibson refused to step down from the Acklins Regatta Committee on Saturday, even after the island's association president publicly dismissed him from his post as chairman because of his regatta tribute to the late Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith.

"You cannot fire me from Acklins or [any] regatta in this country, because I'm the King," said King Eric at a Saturday morning conference

Looks like they (the Gibsons) are milking this dead horse(ANS) for all it is worth. Sort of makes my skin crawl, money is the root of all evil, and the devil is HARD at play with this set.

You know what's funny....Acklins FINALLY get some publicity from the international press, inspite the fact that it is in reference to ANS and then these people carrying on...But then again its there regatta...and its King Eric's boat. I wonder if they can ban a boat from participating for being pink...hmmm.

suck teeth...who appointed king Eric to be chairman anyway...can a president fire a chairman...or is it the other way around. But, if I was king Eric I would have step down gracefully. He already is known as being the premier ragatta sailor, he already win up all the trophies...Men should never take lowless. Stand up and be man dread... if the woman say you fired...be fired and start your own ragatta with Entertainment tonights money...with bigger grand prize not sponsored by government. I wonder if the government would ban him from starting his own ragatta...Bahamas starting to sound communist.

We already on ET saying Chairman fired for naming boat after ANS.

I wanna know what ANS did for the Bahamas that warrants all this from the Gibson's. Now I see where the moral position of the son comes from.... specially after listening to King Eric on the Jeff Lloyd show.

We don't have to wonder what ANS did for the Bahamas, the real question is what she did to and for the Gibsons?

Once we find the answer to this question, we would find the answers to many others.

Whatever she did was pretty good.
