Chinese Trio Arraigned On Making False Declaration
By Bianca Symonette
Two Chinese women and a man were arraigned in court yesterday on the charge of making a false declaration to an officer of the United States; allegedly failing to declare that they were in possession of funds in excess of the $10,000 cash limit.
The trio - arrested at Lynden Pindling International Airport over the weekend – pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Zhi Wen Wang, 29, of New Jersey; Meina Zheng, 20, of Virginia and Leslie Zheng, 19, also of Virginia appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez.

The accused were processed through the U.S. pre-clearance departure section and were preparing to board a flight to the United States, when they were allegedly found in possession of $28,495.35 in US currency, according to court records.

All of the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted $7,000 bail each. A trial date was set for November 2.

My question is, couldn't they have said they were taking less then $10.000 each?
Did they have fake/knock off bags with them? hehe.........

That was my thought when I read the piece, because I was always under the impression it was $10,000 per person, maybe I was wrong.

10,000 per household. But if one declares more it is really no problem if the money is legit.
