Management of Bimini Bay Resort and Marina are denying accusations levied against the company recently by expatriate workers who publicly claimed they were working in conditions comparable to slavery.

Mercy Thomas-Capo, who is chiefly responsible for bringing in the expatriate workers for the resort, said she was genuinely surprised over the allegations, and as a result traveled to Mexico in an effort to disprove the workers' stories.

I think it's good that they went to Mexico and are trying to straighten out the situation. The accusations are ridiculous in my opinion. Just two ex-employees who were trying to cause controversy. I know this will be straightened out. And, it's the Nassau Guardian. Every story they write has to do with negativity and opinionated stories. It's how they sell the paper.
