A pregnant mother of two, who claimed she was raped and physically assaulted in front of her two small children, was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez on Tuesday in connection with a stabbing incident over the weekend.
Anastacia Adderley, 30 of Rattlesnake Alley, Fox Hill, had a large bruise on her left shoulder and on her back when she appeared in court, escorted by a lone female officer. Her 10-year-old daughter waited outside while the proceedings took place.
Adderley was charged with causing grievous harm to Augustine Bannister, 30. She was not required to enter a plea due to the nature of the charge. A preliminary inquiry was ordered to see whether there is enough evidence to bring the case to trial in the Supreme Court.
