CSME can benefit The Bahamas
It is the view of many in The Bahamas that any significant involvement of the archipelago in the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) is a bad idea, to say the least. It is also the view of many that The Bahamas would benefit the least from the CSME, if any benefits at all were to be accrued. It is difficult for the average Bahamian to see beyond the issues surrounding illegal Haitians and Jamaicans, and the threat posed by Caribbean nationals seeking employment in our nation. There are, however, a plethora of positives which The Bahamas could garner from such a trade alliance, from an economic point-of-view.
