Another big drug bust 120 kilos of cocaine from Ecuador are seized in Freeport

FREEPORT – Grand Bahama police put another huge dent in the drug distribution business, with a major haul at the Freeport Container Port on Saturday afternoon.

Chief superintendent of Police Basil Rahming, press liaison officer, said that the drug discovery at the shipping facility resulted in an estimated 120 kilos of cocaine being seized, with an estimated street value of $3 million.

This multi-million dollar discovery of cocaine was a joint effort by the drug interdiction team led by Grand Bahama Drug Enforcement Unit officers (DEU).

Rahming said the officers were acting on information received when they proceeded to the Freeport Container Port around 3:30 p.m. to conduct enquiries. On arrival at that facility, the officers commenced the search of a 40-foot metal container that was positioned on the storage bay....

While searching among a shipment of evaporated milk inside the container, two large black nylon bags were discovered, each of which contained 60 kilos of suspected cocaine, in square, taped, plastic packages.

Just for information most of the drugs you hear about at the contianer port is set up by the US DEA to keep discriditting the port.This port is putting a serious hurtting on the miami port and also the US want's there agent's to be in there in charge full time and the chenise said no to there request.so they are trying everything possible.Those agents were there from that morning waitting on the contianer because it was at the bottom of the stack,but yet they make it same as thought bahamians might be invovle.
Don't believe everything you ready in the papers as i said they were awear of that contianer before the ship reach so what does that tell you.
