WOW! Whats going on? I was on Potters Cay this morning and noticed that they are cleaning up the area around the old fish house to the North West by the Ferry dock. All of the derelict crap that was abandoned for years has been moved. The area around the dumpsters was even clean and get this there where TWO dumpsters there. I am astounded that SOMTHING is at last happening to clean up an area that is heavily traveled by Bahamians and tourist alike.:)

I wonder how long it will be before the vendors and others return it to it's former state.

you will notice more tourists going there, probably a suggestion from Kershner who holds a lot of weight

Kerzner has been requesting this for a long time. If we can really clean up Potters Cay, widen the dock about another 40 feet on both sides so that there is more parking make permanent concrete stalls, upgrade the water facilities, install bathrooms, provide electricity, make the vendors pay and KEEP THE PLACE CLEAN you will see a drastic increase in the number of tourists since it is so close to Paradise Island.
Its about time!
There is one thing about the FNM. They know how to clean up. It will likely take their full five year term to clean up the mess the PLP left - island wide. Cleaning up was/is not the PLPs strong suit!:)

Now the Bahama journal has run a story about the filth at Arawak cay (late as we been making noise about it forever). I wonder how long until the gubment cleans up that mess. Ain't nuttin' been done round there for years and it is DISGUSTING. Perry said once he would swim through vomit for his people, well he missed his chance because the FNM cleaning all the vomit up left by the PLP. AND THATS A FACT!

here is the thing, this is a two way street.
sol and the bahamas gov didnt dirty that place but everyone expects them to clean it up.
they should clean it up but only if people made an effort to keep it clean. if i was them and i see that as soon as i clean it up the people take it back to the same condition in a few months i wouldnt clean it up very often

Well, the thing is, we all know we dirty! Mostly, those at Potter's Key, the Montagu Ramp and the Fish Fry. So the government has to do what those folks don't know what to do for themselves - i.e. clean up after themselves. We want tourist to enjoy, not gag! :)
