"The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness..." (Acts 17:30 & 31)

who said that?
We were told that WE SHOULD take our place... by those who failed to do so themselves... The definition of taking a place in the country's development is a work in progress and is still undefined... This attitude that the burden of nation building falls solely on the youth is a cop out my elders who failed at the task... So rather than pass the buck perhaps our elders should start the conversation by taking responsibility for their misdoings..

while i overstand your view clearly, the choice is still yours, whether you gonna repeat the errors of the past or be better, our elders are but mere humans aswell with many deep rooted faults that we never had,so what you gonna do blame them 4 our misdeeds?where is your comprehension?why they should confess 2 you,no pun intended?

Part of moving forward...from where you are... is recognizing and acknowledging how you got there... we are doomed to make the same mistakes if there isn't a conversation about the how and why we are where we are...
Deflection of responsibility is a repetitive cycle... soon our youth will pass the buck to their successors saying the same...you are the future...crap... Old and young have just as much stake in the future is my point...

Yup!! 100% agreed. I was just trying to challenge the youth to get off their lousy duffs (not all, okay!) and start participating in the solutions to some issues. To think ---- the successes we have are traced to those same 'old men' they are begging to push off the scene; where are the new movers and shakers... eh?

As one of the, dare I say, "More decent" Bahamian youths today, I can see that most of their problems don't stem from themselves . They act the way they do either because of Parents that neglected them early in life and that because of the environment they grew up in. Their mindset, therefore has been permanently molded into one of laziness, anarchy and sometimes racism. If we don't act soon with the ideas mentioned before, this will become the Bahamian culture. Always remember, humans follow the concept "Monkey see, Monkey do". If the Monkey doesn't "see" good habits and responsibility, then they won't "do" good habits and responsibility.
