Doctors: Haitian may have survived 4 weeks in rubble

Port-au-Prince, Haiti (CNN) -- A man pulled alive from the rubble of a building in Haiti's capital may have been trapped since the January 12 quake that leveled much of the city, doctors reported Monday.

The emaciated 28-year-old man was found in the wreckage of a market where he sold rice, his family told staff at a University of Miami field hospital. He suffered from extreme dehydration and malnutrition, but did not appear to have significant crushing injuries, CNN's chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported.

The man told doctors that someone was bringing him water while trapped, but doctors also said he sounded confused and appeared to believe he still was trapped under the rubble.

That is amazing! I am sure we all wish him well. My only thought is how many more are trying to hang on?
May we have wisdom not to fear shadows in the night and courage when the day of danger truly dawns. (Elizabeth, The Golden Age.)

They are amazing people. I think that they lived already on such little food and water prior to this, also helps them survive so long. I mean imagine us that live on 3-8 meals a day, we could barely last a day. Honestly, I think I would rather die quick, then lay trapped under rubble in the dark, unable to move and without water or food, for such a long period of time, not knowing if you will ever be rescued, even if one survives, what if they are barely alive and cannot move or make noise, when the bull dozers come to clear the rubble.

I know that I don't like to be restrained or in small places at all. I would have freaked out and probably killed myself trying to get out.

Let's hope there are a few more miracles in the rubble.

. One of the task entrusted to the vanguard is the production of the national Culture theory and praxis, thus as a vanguard I am putting fourth in addition to philosophy of education, the theory and praxis of national culture of the Bahamas

It makes you think how many others were alive after the search was called off.
