So who is responsible for seeing that the laws of the land are carried out: The Government. Who elects the Government: the people. Word to the wise is sufficient.
The DR don't even issue them birth certificate so at the end of the day they are Haitians and Haiti recognize them. The DR carries out its law and they don't care who you are and how much money you have, they may be harsh but it's their country.

first of all I umm apologize for how I said what I said, it was a bad day. Licks if the Bahamas wanted to get rid of illegal Haitian immigrants they would, however, most of them are benefiting from it including those big name MPs ask some of them why they haven't paid NIB for their Haitian workers. The mess begins and ends with the Bahamian people. Immigration laws and policies change not only from government to government but from minister to minister every cabinet shuffle. We have no clear policy so exactly what laws do we want the Haitian people to follow?

If the Haitians feel that they are being taken advantage of then simply leave. If you are so Proud of your Country then show it... go home, your country needs you.

on the best of days, one dare not take into custody any person that is suspected to be an illegal. The 'haitian' people have no laws to follow, it is the persons in charge that have to uphold the laws of the commonwealth of the bahamas.leave my, repeat, my haitian alone.

I expect da Haitians dem ta follow da Constitution njess like da ress er we have to. . .iffin dem don kno it. . .too bad. . .jess like fer da ress er we! Fer example of one rule dem refuse ta follow is dat NO PERSON IS GAURENTEED CITIZENSHIP JUST BY BIRTH IN THE BAHAMAS. . .JUST AS IT IS IN HAITI! AND IFFIN YA GAT LIGITIMATE CLAIM. . .YA MUST DO IT BETWEEN 18 AND 19 YEARS OLD!! AND DAT DOES NOT INCLUDE ILLIGALS. . .NOR TOURISTS DEM!!

DEM DON RELAX DAT RULE ER ANYONE ELSE. . .I KNO COS I HAVE FAMILY WHO CARN GET DEM OWN COS DEM WAS TOO LATE IN APPLYIN! Oh and by da ay. . .Article 11 in da Haitian Constitution gaurentees citizenship ta all person born ta Haitian parents. . .no matter where dem is born!
