What you mean by merged? Do you mean that the Tribune owns the Guardian?Originally Posted by FACTS ONLY
Or have a Tribune affiliate bought a good percentage of the Guardian? Either way that is not good.
While I think it is not illegal, it does not bode well for competition and different views. I am not claiming that the Tribune is not ethical, only that IF the Tribune own The Guardian, both newspaper would have the same editorial point of view. I do actually think it might help The Journal sales!
Right, I heard this story on 102.9 news. Lets see what I remember. Don't get pissed if I get it wrong but the news comes on again at 7.30 on channel 12.
Eileen Carron will be CEO, I think thats what I heard, Alexiou and Ferguson will also have a post and Roger Carron has a one as well.
One of the papers will become a tabloid in the near future. For the time being they will still be seperate. The staff were notfied today.

This would be a perfect opportunity for the Journal to step up its game.Originally Posted by FACTS ONLY

Eileen Carron is Chairman.
According to Wendell Jones, this is a blessing for him and he is applauding the Tribune for the 'coup'. Calls his paper the little David.![]()

If it is anything like the colina mergers in the past this comming together will take about 3-4 years. Nothing to worry about they will be operating separately a long time.
